My life is pretty busy and like you I'm always trying to squeeze in those extra activities which are going to make me more successful and my life more enjoyable. You know more projects, more holidays, more communication with my team, more time at home, more coaching, more self development and more reading with kids. The list goes on.

But here lies my problem. There will be no more time tomorrow than there was yesterday so how can I do more!

So when I was listening to Jim Collins author of "Good to Great" this line jumped out of the CD player and smacked me in the face.

This is what he says

"Most of us lead busy but undisciplined lives. We have ever expanding to do lists, trying to build momentum by doing, doing , doing - and doing more. And it rarely works. Those who built the good to great companies, however, made as much use of stop doing lists, as to do lists. They displayed a remarkable ability to unplug all sorts of extraneous junk"

So I'm off to work out what I can unplug

Thinking of those meetings, TV shows, projects, shopping trips, unnecessary journeys and general repetitive activities which waste valuable time, so that I can spend more time focusing on those activities that really do make a difference in my life

Till next week, live life at the max

Regards

David
